Where to find it on your bill
Shown as a negative figure or explicitly labelled "Cr." in the charges or adjustments section.
A credit is usually applied against the next bill rather than refunded directly — so a credit this month typically means a smaller payable amount next cycle rather than money returned to a payment method. If a credit doesn't appear to have been applied the following month, that's worth raising with the DISCO with both bills in hand.
More adjustments & carried-forward amounts fields
- Arrears — Unpaid balance from a previous bill, carried forward and added on top of this month's charges.
- Adjustment — A correction line — positive or negative — applied when a past bill needs to be revised, most often after a meter reading correction or a billing error.
- Subsidy — A discount applied to the bill for consumers verified under a specific subsidy scheme — most commonly the Cross Subsidy Program for low-consumption protected households.
