A-1 is the standard domestic residential tariff most households are billed under; A-2 covers domestic Time-of-Use metered consumers; commercial and industrial connections use C- and B-prefixed codes with different slab structures and, often, peak/off-peak pricing. The code on your bill — not the appliance load you think you have — is what determines the rate table applied.

- Protected Status — A marker showing whether your six-month consumption history qualifies you for lower residential slab rates — recalculated by the DISCO every month.
- Payable Amount — The total due if paid on or before the due date — every charge, tax, surcharge, arrears and adjustment added together, before any late payment surcharge.
- Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) — A percentage added to the payable amount once the due date has passed — the difference between "Amount Payable" and "Amount After Due Date" on the bill.
