Editorial team
CheckBills.net is produced by a small editorial desk focused on Pakistani electricity consumers. Every guide is verified against NEPRA notifications, DISCO-published tariff schedules, and live PITC bill formats before publication. Content is reviewed by role — the responsibilities below describe how that review process works and who to contact about a specific kind of correction.
Why we built this
The team behind CheckBills.net has direct experience navigating Pakistani utility billing — tracking down reference numbers, decoding FPA surcharges, and dealing with DISCO complaint channels that are often opaque to ordinary consumers. That frustration drove the creation of a single, fast tool for the most common task: opening your official duplicate bill without the slow PITC portal screens or the confusion of picking among DISCO websites.
The editorial content — guides, tariff explainers, how-to articles — exists because checking the bill is only part of the consumer's problem. Understanding what every line item means, knowing when to complain and how, and making sense of sector-level decisions that affect monthly costs — those require clear, Pakistan-specific writing that does not assume financial or technical expertise.

How we verify
Every tariff table and surcharge claim is traced to the latest NEPRA notification before publication. DISCO helpline and portal links are tested monthly; broken links are flagged within 48 hours. When NEPRA issues a new tariff determination, affected pages are reviewed and updated — we track the notification gazette and public hearing outcomes directly from NEPRA's official website.
We also cross-check against live PITC bill outputs: the fields, labels, and line items that appear on actual duplicate bills. When a bill format changes — as it occasionally does when NEPRA adds or removes a surcharge — we update our guides to match. If you spot a stale number or a broken official link, please tell us via the contact page. Our editorial standards page lays out the full review cadence and corrections policy.
What we cover — and what we don't
Our editorial scope is Pakistani consumer electricity billing: understanding bills, reducing consumption, filing complaints, making payments, and navigating the sector. We do not publish investment commentary on power stocks, predict future tariff levels, or provide services that only licensed engineers or legal professionals should give (meter certification, formal dispute arbitration). When a topic requires official expert advice, we say so and link to the appropriate authority.
